Banff is a resort town in the province of Alberta, located within Banff National Park. The peaks of Mt. Rundle and Mt. Cascade, part of the Rocky Mountains, dominate its skyline. On Banff Avenue, the main thoroughfare, boutiques and restaurants mix with château-style hotels and souvenir shops. The surrounding 6,500 square kilometres of parkland are home to wildlife including elk and grizzly bears..

 To Do in Banff

 

  • Cave and Basin – Visit the Cave and Basin National Historic Site to experience the birthplace of Canada’s national parks and learn about the natural and cultural history of the mountains.   • Banff Gondola – you can summit a peak near Banff thanks to the Banff Gondola, with four-person enclosed cars that glide up to the top of Sulphur Mountain in less than 10 minutes. Named for the thermal springs that emanate from its base, this peak is a must-do Banff attraction.
  • Banff Upper Hot Springs – Soak in the steamy hot mineral water where travellers have come to “take the waters” for over a hundred years. Banff National Park’s only hot springs pool welcomes you year-round for an authentic heritage experience that is a favourite amongst visitors. When in Banff do as the locals do – come in the morning for the most relaxing visit.
